My
attention was first drawn to Micheal by his wonderful friendly
help, advice and attitude extended to fellow competitors on the
show ring. I then discovered that he had moved out our way and
being in between trainers, I decided to 'give him a go'. I
have had lessons from various well known trainers over the
years, using various methods-I now realise after a few lessons
with Micheal as to how much of the 'basics' I had missed. Being
a mature rider and with starting a new horse, I had a few
confidence problems creeping in also. I really appreciate
Micheal's calmness and re-assuring attitude...I'm sure my horse
was picking up on it also!. His knowledge of the
muscular/skeletal structure of the horse and his easy way of
explaining the task ahead has once again made learning and
riding pleasurable. My horse is coming along beautifully -
soft and supple and finally enjoying and not resisting when
asked 'to try something new.' He is a lot more athletic and
supple under Micheal's tuition. We have had outstanding results
this year....Does Micheal come highly recommended------you
bet!!!!!

I have been involved
with horses for over 25 years. Recently I purchased a Paint Colt
and decided that I wanted to try my hand at Reining with him. It
was important for me to find a trainer that I understood and
whose methods I could relate to. After a number of lessons with
other local trainers I felt as though I was making no progress
and that my colt was not benefiting from any techniques that
they were using.
I was eventually
given Micheals details with glowing endorsements on his
Horsemanship and his ability to connect with the horses that he
works with. After a couple of lessons I was already impressed
with the progress that my horse was making and I found the
instructions extremely easy to understand. Since this time the
rest of my family is now under Michaels instruction and we have
all been enlightened with the difference between riding a horse
compared to being one with the horse and working together.
I have total
trust in Micheals ability and have since recommended him as a
trainer to a number of people in our local area. Michael is more
than a trainer he consistently helps us not just at lessons but
when ever we need him.

I have had a lot of lessons
from very well known dressage trainers and I particularly like
the way Michael teaches as he is able to explain how and why to
do things in an easy to understand manner. He has a huge range
of exercises to fix any problems that you may be having and he
never fails to surprise me with a new one. I have never had as
good results as I am having with Michael. I am confident that I
am getting the best out of my horse and feel that I am improving
all the time. I really look forward to my lesson each week.

After numerous difficulties with my mare and several
unsuccessful attempts with other instructors, I began lessons
with Micheal. I have found Micheal to be a kind yet firm
instructor, who does his best to assist me with my riding and
horsemanship. My mare has improved dramatically, to the point
where I am no longer terrified to get on and actually enjoy
taking her places. Micheal has given me realistic goals and
aspirations and I now look forward to seeing where this mare
will take me. He has helped to restore my confidence and I have
learned a great deal. Due to the improvements I have seen in my
mare, I am now having lessons from Micheal on my other horse as
well.

Having
owned and ridden horses competitively for 45 years I have had
many good instructors including some who had trained Olympic
teams. Since having lessons with Micheal I am constantly amazed
at his intricate knowledge of the structure and function of the
horse and how to use that knowledge to achieve the highest
standards with a soft supple compliant horse. With my background
in Dressage and hacking I recently decided to try my hand at
Western and after one lesson went out and won Champion at my
first competition.

Following a series of bad
falls & after having my children I had no confidence at all &
was struggling just to get through a Preparatory level test.
Michael's unwavering patience & ability to read both horse &
rider has seen me go from prep to competing Novice & training
Elementary. My confidence has grown, so has my love of riding.
My horse is happier, more athletic & supple within himself. We
would be lost without Micheal.

Advancing age and
less opportunities to ride, combined with some falls and bad
frights, meant that my confidence was, to say the least,
extremely fragile. Michael has assisted me to again enjoy
riding. He has unlimited patience and always has the best
interest of both myself and my horse at heart. He is one of the
few riders who can instruct in almost any equestrian discipline,
English or Western. His ability to assess a situation and
explain clearly and calmly what is needed, or to get on and
assist a horse understand what is being asked has helped the
progress of both myself and my horse enormously. Lessons are
fun and enjoyable, and with Michaels assistance we are making
steady progress.

After a long break because of Equine Influenza I took the
opportunity to go back to basics and retrain some bad habits in
both my horse (and myself) I could never have him going nicely
in a frame and wasn’t sure what I was doing wrong. Michael’s
lessons has both of us working so much better. My horse uses his
back end and doesn’t run away from me. My daughter has even
commented how I am riding better and that’s high praise. I
really enjoy the lessons... Michael knows what to concentrate on
by just looking at how a horse is moving- his techniques work.
